Today Mommy and Daddy came to visit at 9 am, 3 pm, and 9 pm. Mommy got to change your diaper, take your temperature, and feed you the colostrum, and for the first time, pick you up while the nurse changed your bedding!
The nurse said today was a better day than yesterday for you. Your heart rate dropping twice yesterday nearly killed us! Your lamp for jaundice will most likely come off tomorrow which is exciting and your line through your belly button came out today. Your oxygen level went down to 21% which is where adults are! Sometimes you don't like the position you are in so you need your oxygen levels higher. The nurse said that you hate looking out the window on your left side. She also said that you took off your gel heart today and had it in your hand. She said it was the cutest thing! She told me once she went to get another one, you stuck it back on! You just hate having that temperature piece on you!
The best news we received all day was that I may be able to start Kangaroo Care tomorrow! She said to bring a robe and I would hold you chest to chest for a whole hour! I really am nervous about it, but I can not wait to hold you in my arms. You are such a strong little boy and you are fighting so hard for Mommy and Daddy! We are so proud of you already!
Tomorrow you have an ultrasound of your brain. We are praying that everything goes well. Besides that, they said that they are going to give you a day off from lab work because everything had been looking great!
Mommy and Daddy are so incredibly proud of you and love you so much more than words could ever say. Stay strong buddy and keep on fighting! You are our hero!
